De Paul School History

De Paul School, Berhampur, is named after St. Vincent De Paul, one of the pioneers of social reformation. The school had a humble beginning with 56 children and over the years it grew in size and popularity and has the strength of over 2800 students today. Dedicated service of the teachers under an able administration and perfect management has paved the way for the success of this institution. The objective of the school is to impart to the students a sound education under the guidance of the Vincentian Fathers.

We aspire that, De Paul, continues to be a power-house of knowledge, light, love and harmony. We say to God THANKS for all that He has done to this institution and all that comes from Him, YES.

Our History / Achievement

July 2022
From 2022 – Till Now Rev. Fr. Ricardo Pradhan, C.M, took over the charge of the office of the Principal, and he is taking De Paul School forward with a spirit of single minded devotion, dedication, with new vision, enthusiasm, passion, sincerity and discipline. His active role in imbibing life skills like discipline, respect, integrity, team work and social responsibility can aspire to evolve students to carry forward his vision to the outside world. From that juncture onward, Rev. Fr. Ricardo Pradhan, C.M, embarked upon a transformative journey, orchestrating the construction of novel laboratories (Chemistry Lab, Biology Lab & Physics Lab), the meticulous renovation of the esteemed edifice of De Paul School, thereby effecting a profound metamorphosis upon its countenance.
July 2010
From 2010 – 2022 Rev. Fr. Saju Antony C.M. took over the charge of the office of the Principal, and is steering the great vessel of De Paul School with dedication, sincerity and discipline.
Oct 2006
From 2006 – 2008 Rev. Fr. Sebastian T.J. C.M. was the head of De Paul Family during the years 2006 to 2008. His service for the growth of this institution is beyond comparison.
Nov 2000
From 2000 – 2006 and 2008 – 2010 The school had a dynamic and progressive growth under the efficient leadership of Rev. Fr. Job K. Thomas C.M. as the principal. De Paul School also was fortunate to have Rev. Dr. Fr. Francis Puthenthayyil, C.M. as the Principal who rendered his service sincerely for a short time.
Jan 1987
The School was Founded by The Vincentian Odisha Society in 1987 Under the guidance of Fr. Mathew Onatt, C.M., with Rev. Dr. Jose Aikara, C.M. as its first principal, who shouldered this responsibility until 2000 with great dedication and enthusiasm, which made the school one of the premier educational institutions of the fast growing township. It is a matter of great privilege for us to see him today as the chairman of CISCE Council, New Delhi.
